Unhappy with Your Smile? Don't Fret!
Do you feel self-conscious about your smile or showing your teeth? Orthodontics can provide many life changing results to help obtain a better smile and keep your teeth healthier. Teeth that are easier to clean benefit over time from needing less expensive dental treatments work such as a crown, root canal, or implant! With Clear Correct or Invisalign treatments, we are able to correct occlusion, straighten teeth, and fix irregular bites. Many people assume they are too old for this type of treatment, although many can benefit from this type of ortho treatment.

Ortho as an Adult
Wearing braces as an adult can sound unpleasant, after a certain age adult teeth take much longer to move and a full orthodontics treatment can take up to 3 years! That being said, a better smile is just one reason to consider when thinking about Invisalign or similar treatments

Fixing the alignment of teeth to improve the bite can reduce the amount of pressure your bite puts on your teeth. This can reduce the chance of forming micro-fractures in teeth, reduce the chance of a fractured tooth, and improve the longevity of your bite.

While you may desire ortho treatment, there are also reasons to be weary of it. Invisalign can be uncomfortable or somewhat painful at times, as teeth are being moved within the jaw. This can make wearing your aligner less desirable for the recommended 22 hours a day of use. As the success of all ortho treatments lie in the patient’s compliance, if you are not diligent with your routine then results will be slower!

Home Care Goes a Long Way!
A good home care routine is important so that when your treatment is over to care for  your beautifully aligned teeth, ensuring they are healthy and free of cavities. Be sure to maintain your oral care routine with daily flossing and brushing twice a day using fluoride toothpaste like Sensodyne, which helps strengthen tooth enamel and reduce sensitivity in the mouth and near teeth. And although you may be spending a lot of time at the orthodontist's office for your treatment, don't forget to come in for your regular cleanings and dental checkups!
